Film photography - our first impressions

Long story short, we absolutely love it!

In an age where digital photography dominates, there’s a growing movement of photographers rediscovering the unique charm of analog photography. If you’re intrigued by the timeless aesthetic and hands-on process of shooting with film, then this is for you.

What is it that makes it so special for us to shoot with film?

It's the indescribable feeling that the analog images evoke in us. It's the particular look of 35mm films that triggers a nostalgic and dreamy feeling within us.

The first roll of film we shot was more of a test and see what comes out of it, but we were immediately impressed by the look and the distinct colors of the first roll of film we shot. At this point thanks also to our film lab for their great work.

The process of unpacking the 35mm film, loading the camera, taking photographs and then waiting until the film is developed makes it a very special and unique experience compared to digital photography. It's certainly an enriching way to develop and expand your portfolio and knowledge of photography.

In the near future, we will increasingly experiment with various 35mm film stock and incorporate the images into our portfolio, as this style of photography aligns with our aesthetic.

Maybe the look is not for everyone but definitely worth a try to see if you like it as much as we do.

(All pictures are shot with Kodak Gold 200 and Kodak Ultramax 400)
